Two years ago, Alejandro Roja discovered pickleball and, like many others, was instantly hooked. Playing nearly every day, he quickly recognized the sport's explosive growth and the increasing demand for high-quality courts—especially in Austin, Texas, where indoor options were nonexistent at the time.

Driven by a desire to contribute to the sport's growth and meet the needs of local players, Roja set out to create Austin’s first dedicated indoor pickleball facility.

The journey began with extensive research as Alejandro traveled across the U.S. to tour top-tier facilities and connect with experienced owners and operators, gaining valuable insights into what worked—and what didn’t. Back in Austin, he conducted in-person surveys with over 130 players to understand which features, programs, and experiences local players were most excited about.

Armed with this knowledge, Pickleland was brought to life—an indoor pickleball space designed from the ground up with player experience in mind. From thoughtfully structured open play sessions to a vibrant, welcoming community, Pickleland was built to offer something special: a space where everyone from beginners to seasoned players can feel at home.

LOCATION

Located in Pflugerville, Texas, just a short drive from Austin, Pickleland is in a prime area for both local players and those visiting from out of town. Pickleland is easy to access and offers ample court space for both recreational play and tournaments.

INDOOR, OUTDOOR OR HYBRID?

Pickleland is fully indoor facility, offering the best environment for players with no distractions like support columns or conflicting court lines. This ensures an optimal experience for everyone, regardless of the weather.

FOOD AND DRINK OPTIONS

Pickleland offers social mixers, free yoga sessions, and they have a cool concept called Social Sundays where you can hang out outside of the facility for dinners, karaoke nights and more. 

MEMBERSHIP OPTIONS

Pickleland has a variety of very affordable pickleball memberships that people can choose from depending on the times that they are available to come. They also have open play (gated by DUPR levels) available throughout the day, ensuring that everyone can find a session that fits their schedule. Pickleland prides themselves on providing various formats of open play such as Ladies Night, Family, Junior, etc.

Pickleland has a vibrant Slack group with over 2,500 players where CEO, Alejandro is constantly requesting feedback from his customers and visitors. There aren’t many facilities where you can just DM the CEO with your ideas, but Pickleland is trying to build a feedback loop with my customers to make Pickleland a great place for pickleball.
