Ping Pong for Good Teams with JOOLA USA to Launch Innovative Ping Pong Wellness Programs

JOOLA USA, as a leader in table tennis apparel and equipment, is pleased to announce its partnership with Ping Pong for Good (PPG), a Santa Monica-based non-profit organization. Focused on using ping pong as a tool to promote active aging and fight cognitive impairment, such as brain diseases like Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s, Ping Pong For Good entered the world of table tennis with the drive and passion to make a real difference.

PPG aims to become the leader in advocating the benefits of this popular activity for all ages by working closely with experts in health, fitness and sport sciences. Through the creation of its table tennis programs for both fitness and cognitive therapy, PPG will bring the true benefits of table tennis for the brain to light. This is a journey which JOOLA is proud to be alongside them on.

“Exercise has been shown to be an evidence-based tool for slowing cognitive decline and valuable for managing symptoms in those struggling with neurological conditions. More people should consider adding ping pong as a serious component of their exercise programs”, says Ryan Glatt, a Brain Health Coach at the Pacific Brain Health Center – qualified with an MSc in Applied Neuroscience and a BSc in Exercise Science.

Ping Pong for Good is a small, but motivated team – driven by Maureen McComsey, a leader in social impact innovation and Trent MacLean, a consumer products industry expert, both sharing passions for fitness and health.  Trent was first diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2010 and a strong advocate for the benefits of table tennis throughout his own life experience.  The team was fortunate to add the curious mind of  Ryan Glatt, to help develop and pilot its Ping Pong Therapy program.

“Many are surprised to learn that in addition to being an Olympic sport and one of the world’s most popular activities, ping pong has many therapeutic benefits, especially for the brain,” says PPG Co-Founder Maureen McComsey.  “We’re showing people how they can use ping pong to promote brain health, stay active as they age, and even combat the symptoms of neurological disease, such as Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, and ADHD.”

“We are thrilled to be able to revolutionize the way people think about ping pong, making it more accessible and fun, while providing tangible ways to incorporate it into their daily fitness regimen,” says Trent McLean, PPG Co-Founder. “We’re on a mission to move beyond the theory about its benefits and create tangible ways to utilize ping pong to optimize ALL of its benefits! As a person living with Parkinson’s, I’ve personally experienced it and want others to do so, too,” says Trent McLean, PPG Co-Founder.

With JOOLA as a partner, Ping Pong for Good is working to create a global movement to improve the lives of anyone who picks up a paddle.
