JOOLA Vyzaryz Freeze Table Tennis Blade Review by Coach Martin Ježo

JOOLA Vyzaryz Table Tennis Blade Review

When I heard last year that JOOLA would be releasing a new blade with AL-C, I was very excited. It is my favorite type of carbon composite and I have been playing with AL-C for over 12 years. I recently got the chance to finally try it out. I tested the new JOOLA Vyzaryz Freeze using JOOLA Dynaryz AGR on the forehand and JOOLA Dynaryz ACC on the backhand.

The blade is composed of AL-C and Limba outer and inner layers. Limba is a very soft wood and I could feel the difference in touch from my very first shot. It is a well-balanced offensive blade with really nice control. After trying it out for several weeks, I would say that this blade is best suited for players who play close to the table or mid-distance from the table.

When blocking, you really felt in good control of the blade and it was very easy to go into an active counterlooping game from close to the table. I felt that mid-distance was the best distance for me when using the Vyzaryz Freeze blade. It was very easy to control the ball because of the extra dwell-time created by the Limba and AL-C. It was also very easy to actively counterloop almost every stroke.

When playing from a greater distance, I felt that the blade was not as fast and I had to depend on my own strength more. When I looped against underspin, it was easier for me to brush the ball and put more spin than using a powerful loop. The JOOLA Vyzaryz Hybrid and JOOLA Vyzaryz Trinity may be better options if you desire more powerful shots, but for me - the Vyzaryz Freeze has the best combination of control, flex and touch and most suits my playing style.

Overall, it is a very well-balanced blade. I've decided to make the JOOLA Vyzaryz Freeze with JOOLA Dynaryz AGR and JOOLA Dynaryz ACC on the backhand my new permanent setup.I'm looking forward to trying it out during future tournaments!

Main Points:

  • Good feeling and touch of the ball
  • Recommended for players who like to play close to mid-distance
  • Perfect for counter-looping
