Why Shape Matters
Pickleball paddles can come in a variety of shapes, sizes, weights, thickness, and materials.
In this post, we’re going to focus on paddle shape and what that means to your individual play style. By rule, a paddle's combined length and width cannot exceed 24 total inches, and the maximum paddle length is 17 inches. JOOLA currently offers 10 unique paddle shapes for beginners up to pros.
Let’s explore the key differences in the entire JOOLA line up of paddles and learn why shape matters.
Professional Paddles
The shapes of our professional pickleball paddles include Perseus, Hyperion, Magnus, and Scorpeus. Each of these paddle shapes take design inspiration from their pro namesake’s style of play.
Watch the series of Shape Matters videos below for a brief overview of all the JOOLA paddle shapes:
Performance Paddles
JOOLA’s line of pickleball performance shapes includes the Agassi, Radius, Seneca, and Vision. These paddle shapes are great for the game's top pros, as well as athletes still developing their game. The new Agassi shape has a larger sweet spot that goes to the edge of the paddle. This lets you swing confidently and hit the ball easily. The classic design of the JOOLA Radius draws inspiration from the table tennis racquets that made JOOLA famous.
Recreational Paddles
If you are interested in pickleball but don't know where to start, JOOLA has the right paddles for you. Choose between the Vision or the Beacon shape. Both are classic pickleball shapes. They provide comfort and stability for players who are just starting their pickleball journey.
Let’s tie it all up with a nice pretty ribbon. If you play pickleball, regardless of your style or experience, shape matters! And JOOLA pickleball has the shape for you!
