At JOOLA, we know that great pickleball clubs often start with great friendships—and the Calabasas Pickleball Club  is no exception. It all began with two lifelong friends, Brad and Brian, who first met at Chaparral Elementary School 35 years ago. Their bond was built on a shared love of sports, and decades later, life brought them both back to Calabasas, now with families of their own.

Like so many others, they discovered pickleball in 2020 and were instantly hooked. The beauty of the sport? It brings people together. And that’s exactly what happened in early 2021 when Brad and Brian met Daryl Wizelman. A newcomer to the game but already obsessed, Daryl quickly became part of their growing pickleball circle. What started as three Calabasas locals playing for fun soon turned into an all-out passion for the game.

But with passion came frustration. The demand for courts was growing, and competition was limited. That’s when the trio set out on a bold mission—to create the ultimate pickleball paradise. Fate was on their side when they found the perfect piece of land right in the heart of Calabasas. After years of planning, investing, dreaming (and, let’s be honest, stressing), their vision became reality.

On June 1, 2024, Calabasas Pickleball Club officially opened its doors—featuring 16 state-of-the-art courts, a thriving community, and a shared love for the game that started it all.

Above the action, their upper pad offers covered viewing areas with designer outdoor furnishings, surrounded by beautifully curated, drought-tolerant landscaping. Need to cross-train? Their outdoor gym, shaded by sail covers, is fully equipped with cutting-edge fitness gear by BeaverFit—perfect for getting game-ready.

Downstairs, the modern farmhouse lower pad is built for relaxation and community. Gather around our outdoor communal space, complete with designer Adirondack chairs, cozy fire pits, a custom iron arch wrapped in lights, and towering mature trees.
