Classic Paddles That Continue to Perform in 2025

JOOLA Pro IV and Agassi Pro made headlines in 2025, but what about the pickleball paddle's help start it all? The unsung heroes of the early JOOLA years.

Long before the innovation of TechFlex Power (TFP) or the game-changing shape of the Agassi and Graf pro, these paddles walked, so subsequent paddle generations could run.

Here's five paddle's from JOOLA's past that continue to impress in the present.

The JOOLA Ben Johns Hyperion CFS 16 Pickleball Paddle

Hyperion (CFS)

AKA: The paddle that started it all.
Skill Level: Advanced

The release of the Ben Johns Hyperion CFS 16 was a major milestone in the pickleball industry, as JOOLA, the long-established table tennis brand, entered the rapidly growing pickleball market with high-quality paddles tailored for professional-level play.

Why this paddle still rips is becuase it was rigoursly tested, prototype after prototype with real time feedback from the pickleball world #1 Ben Johns. Johns took a chance on JOOLA, a brand he knew from his table tennis days, and that gamble paid off big time.

The Aero-Curve design debuted on the Hyperion CFS and quickly became a fan favorite partly due to the ability to effortlessly cut through the air. Since the release of Hyperion, JOOLA's design team has used it as a symbol of innovation, and an inspiration point for future shapes to match even more play styles.

"This paddle excels in the soft game while still having enough pop to finish points. The spin is elite thanks to the Carbon Friction Surface. Great choice for serious players."

Vision CGS

AKA: The spin doctor.
Skill Level: Intermediate

On the heels of the Hyperion CFS came the JOOLA Vision series, including models like the JOOLA Vision CGS 14mm and 16mm, expanding JOOLA’s paddle offering to provide a broader range of paddles for different skill levels and play styles.

Why we love the Vision? First, the Vision's Carbon Grip Surface (CGS) comes to mind, with a long-lasting Carbon Flex3 textured surface, you get enhanced grip on the ball to generate a healther ammount of spin.

The Vision overall is just easier to maneuver. Its Aero-Curve design, and carbon fiber surface, make it lighter and easier to cut through the air quicker, resulting in better reaction time.

All pun-intended, the Vision was a look to the future of JOOLA innovation.

"The response of the paddle is easy to control making it a great selection for players who are at an early stage in their pickleball journey as well as those who are more advanced."

Radius

AKA: The reset machine.
Skill Level: Beginner to Immediate

Dubbed by JOOLA legend Eric White as the “Rodney Dangerfield of pickleball paddles,” because it gets no respect! The Radius feel and sweet spot are unmatched, as Eric put it, it's a "f***ing resetting machine!"

Why this paddle still performs is a comination of shape and weight. Picture this, a company rooted in table tennis, a history that dates back to 1952, comes on to the pickleball scene, they make a splash by signing world #1 Ben Johns, instantly putting the rest of the pickleball world on notice.

So what would be a logical design choice for a company with this type of history? If you answered, create a paddle Inspired by the shape of table tennis rackets, I didn't give you enough credit.

The rounded shape of the paddle offers a larger sweet spot, and just like the table tennis rackets it used for inspo, this paddle can easily add spin and control to your game.

As an added bonus the Radius comes in a little under 8 ounces on average, making it easier to maneuver and produce at the net.

"I was reluctant to try because of the shape and have yet to put it down once the first prototype was in my hand! To me the best feature though is the really short handle. So easy to flick and torque the wrist."
-JOOLA Trainer and Pro Eric White

Scorpeus C2

AKA: The right-side king.
Skill Level: Advanced

Becoming the greatest men's doubles team in pickleball history is no small feat. So when Collin Johns came to JOOLA to play on younger brother Ben Johns right side, he needed a signature paddle to match his style.

What really defines the greatness of the Scorpeus C2 is the versatility of Traditional shape with widened hitting area that doesn’t compromise power, and offers great control with a handle long enough for a two handed backhand. The extended sweet-spot plays to the strengths of Collin as a defensive style player, but can still be beneficial to players like Anna Bright who favors a more fast-paced agressive style.

Scorpeus C2 also features a Charged Carbon Surface Technology that helps boost pop, power, and enhances durability.

Finally, the Scorpeus C2 is a great paddle becuase it provides great weight distribution throughout, letting you gain an extra level of stability at the kitchen and produce championship level spin.

"It's incredible how fast the Scorpeus is, every aspect of the paddle is there to increase its speed, and the result is extraordinary. With the slightest tweak of your wrist, the paddle will react exactly as you want."

The Full 3S Paddle Line

AKA: The smooth operator.
Skill Level: Advanced

I know what you're thinking, "that's more than one paddle," and your right. The full 3S line actually contains 9 paddle variations, but this is our list, so we can do what we want. Also, how negligent would we be if we didn't let you know about all the 3S paddles?

So what makes the JOOLA 3S line so versatile? Well it's right there in the name. These paddles are solid, stable and strong. The last longer, play better and let you feel and react with full confidence and percision.

When building 3S, JOOLA created a new and improved core, combined with existing Propulsion Core technology to deliver a paddle with potent power and sharp control. 3S paddles feature enhanced stability, giving the player the ability for flawless shot placement and elevated handling.

All those attributes make it a great choice intermediate players transitioning to a more tactical or competitive game.

" What I like the most about the JOOLA 3S is that it let's me play my game with confidnce, becuase I know I'm getting power, speed, and consistent volleys everytime I play."
-JOOLA Pro and RPO Certified Trainer, Josh Jenkins
