JOOLA Santoru KL-C Outer Blade Review by Coach Joe Podvin

JOOLA Santoru KL-C Outer Blade Review by Coach Joe Podvin

The new JOOLA Santoru KL-C Outer is one of my favorite blades on the market. I used to play with the JOOLA Fever and recently switched over to the Santoru KL-C Outer. I am not one to switch blades very often because once I find something I like, I tend to stick with it. Switching blades can create new challenges, including adjusting to a new weight, sweet spot, feel, and most importantly - confidence. Usually, it takes 6-12 months to feel confident with a new blade.I do recommend switching blades when yours is damaged, discontinued, or if it has aged to the point that the feel is not the same. I recently switched to the JOOLA Santoru KL-C Outer because the JOOLA Fever was discontinued. Another reason I switch blades is because my hands sweat, which after 6 - 12 months, changes the feel of the handle. It is amazing how an older blade of the same make and model feels different from a brand new one.If you do feel the need to switch to a new blade or you are searching for something that you can trust, the JOOLA Santoru KL-C Outer may be the right blade for you. This blade has such a solid feel that it may be easier to adjust to than some other blades. The blade is offensive and has the Kevlar-Carbon sitting directly under a softer Limba outer layer. It plays like an allround blade, but fast, and with great touch, accuracy, and softness on the block. It feels as though the entire playing surface is one giant sweet spot. I say this because unlike other blades where I have noticed that when hitting certain spots on the blade, the ball comes off funny or feels different. This blade does not do that. It's actually a very unique characteristic of the JOOLA Santoru KL-C Outer. My favorite shot with this blade is the loop. I can create maximum speed and spin with seemingly very little effort. As I stated above - the sweet spot is basically the entire playing surface - so it makes for a very consistent loop. I also enjoy the handle. It is slightly larger than the one on the JOOLA Fever, which really helps if you have bigger hands, but it is also perfectly fine for kids too. Finally, the weight of the blade is light. I really believe that having a light blade is important. Table Tennis is such a fast game and any extra help with quickly switching from shot to shot helps. If you are on the market for a new table tennis blade, the JOOLA Santoru KL-C Outer should be at the top of your list.JOOLAUSABlog_Joe-Podvin_Headshot
