Team JOOLA Dominates in Men's Doubles at PPA Desert Ridge Open
PPA Desert Ridge Open:
The PPA Tour returned to Phoenix, Arizona for the PPA Desert Ridge Open. The tournament featured intense competition, with Team JOOLA taking home medals in every category but one. Two matches over the weekend claimed their spot on the ESPN Sportscenter top 10.
Men's Doubles:
The Men's Doubles event at the PPA Desert Ridge Open witnessed intense matches throughout. Out of the six medals given, Team JOOLA was able to claim five of them. In the quarterfinals, Julian Arnold and Christian Alshon secured a hard-fought victory against Pablo Tellez and Federico Staksrud with scores of 11-6, 12-10. Meanwhile, Erik Lange and Zane Navratil rallied back after a slow start to defeat Thomas Wilson and Riley Newman in three sets with scores of 5-11, 11-8, 11-8. Dekel Bar and Tyson McGuffin also faced a tough battle against Matt Wright and James Ignatowich but emerged victorious with scores of 5-11, 11-8, 11-7. Ben Johns and Collin Johns advanced to the final after a thrilling three-set semifinal victory against Arnold and Alshon with scores of 7-11, 11-9, 12-10. McGuffin and Bar dominated Navratil and Lange in the other semifinal with scores of 11-3, 5-11, 11-3. The final showdown saw the Johns brothers overpowering McGuffin and Bar in straight sets with scores of 11-3, 11-3, 11-9 to claim the Men's Doubles title.
Men's Singles:
In the Men's Singles category at the PPA Desert Ridge Open, notable matches unfolded. Jaume Martinez Vich displayed resilience in the quarterfinals, defeating top seed Ben Johns with scores of 4-11, 11-5, 11-5. Tyson McGuffin also showcased his skill, securing a victory against Aanik Lohani with scores of 11-5, 10-12, 11-2. Martinez Vich continued his impressive run by triumphing over Jay Devilliers in the semifinals with scores of 12-10, 2-11, 11-9. Federico Staksrud secured his spot in the final after a hard-fought semifinal victory against McGuffin with scores of 9-11, 11-7, 11-4. In the final match, Staksrud emerged victorious against Martinez Vich with scores of 7-11, 11-2, 11-8 to claim the Men's Singles title.
Mixed Doubles:
Next up at the PPA Desert Ridge Open, the Mixed Doubles event featured thrilling matchups. Tyra Black and Augie Ge delivered an impressive performance in the quarterfinals, defeating Lucy Kovalova and Matt Wright with scores of 11-5, 4-11, 11-5. Ben Johns and Anna Leigh Waters showcased exceptional teamwork, securing a semifinal victory against Ge and Black with scores of 11-7, 11-9. Anna Bright and James Ignatowich also advanced to the final after a hard-fought semifinal victory against Vivienne David and Thomas Wilson with scores of 11-5, 12-10. In the final match, Waters and Johns dominated Bright and Ignatowich with scores of 11-6, 11-3, 11-0 to clinch the Mixed Doubles title.
Women's Doubles:
The Women's Doubles event witnessed intense competition. Anna Leigh Waters and Catherine Parenteau faced tough opposition from Jade Kawamoto and Jackie Kawamoto in the quarterfinals but managed to secure a victory with scores of 10-12, 11-1, 11-9. They continued their impressive performance in the semifinals, defeating Anna Bright and Rachel Rohrabacher with scores of 11-3, 11-9. Meghan Dizon and Etta Wright also showcased their skill, securing a semifinal victory against Lucy Kovalova and Callie Smith with scores of 11-5, 10-12, 11-9. In the final showdown, Waters and Parenteau emerged victorious against Dizon and Wright with scores of 11-8, 11-4, 11-8 to claim the Women's Doubles title at the PPA Desert Ridge Open.
Women's Singles:

Anna Leigh Waters displayed dominance in the semifinals, defeating Kaitlyn Christian with scores of 11-3, 11-6. Mary Brascia showcased her resilience, securing a semifinal victory against Lea Jansen with scores of 11-9, 13-15, 11-9. In the final match, Waters continued her stellar performance, overpowering Brascia with scores of 11-2, 11-1 to claim the Women's Singles title. This completes the Triple Crown performance for Anna Leigh Waters.

The PPA Tour will remain in the greater Phoenix area for the PPA Mesa Open. This tournament will return to the progressive draw format, and will take place 2/20-2/25.
