Major League Pickleball (MLP) launched the second half of their season this past Wednesday in New York City, New York. As the first year with 24 different teams, the teams are switching leagues half way throughout the season as they compete to grab a spot in the Premier League next year. Therefore, teams that were in the Challenger League (Bay Area Breakers, Orlando Squeeze, Chicago Slice, etc.) will now be Premier Level teams. While Premier teams (Seattle Pioneers, LA Mad Drops, St. Louis Shock) will be headed to the Challenger League for the remainder of the season. Due to this switch, an entire redrafting of the teams was completed. With the redraft, we saw a rearranging of order in which players were drafted as well as some new faces on the team rosters. JOOLA’s own, Ben Johns, showed his strength on an MLP team last season by taking home two championships which earned him the #1 draft pick for Season Two.Premier Teams were drafted first with Challenger following shortly after.
