Bobbi Oshiro Secures Two Medals at APP Daytona Beach Open

Last weekend was an exciting weekend for JOOLA player, Bobbi Oshiro, as she added two medals to her collection at the APP Daytona Beach Open. Oshiro secured a bronze medal in women’s doubles with partner Lee Whitwell, edging out Bates/Rane in a tight match in the consolation 15-13 but eventually falling to the duo of Fudge/Barr 11-3, 11-8. This bronze medal follows a stellar performance from Oshiro at last week’s PPA Desert Ridge where Oshiro and partner Sarah Ansboury upset multiple top seeds to make a run to the semifinals. In mixed doubles, Bobbi Oshiro and partner Brendan Long went undefeated in tournament play and took home gold. Oshiro and Long had no easy route as they faced off against Todd/H. Johnson in the championship match. Todd and H. Johnson were able to force a game to 15 tiebreaker in the finals after winning the 2/3 sets 11-5, 12-10 but couldn’t hang on as Oshiro and Long handily won the tiebreaker, 15-6.APP Daytona ends Bobbi Oshiro’s five weekend tournament streak, as she plans to take a break to prepare for the second round of Major League Pickleball.
