Chin and Fajardo Capture Gold During Innagural Jamaica International Pickleball Open

“As a global leader in the game, JOOLA is committed to growing pickleball at every level. The enthusiasm, pride, and skill we’ve witnessed in Jamaica mark another step toward our goal of expanding the sport so it can thrive in every country around the world,” said Richard Lee, CEO and Owner of JOOLA.
Spectators and players were in awe of the incredible pickleball on display from the pros and high-level players who came down, raising the level beyond what we’d ever seen at home. An impactful aspect of the tournament was mixing top players with our own local talent, which meant the crowd could still cheer on their friends in various matches into championship Sunday.
Adding to that, our sponsors had drinks pouring and local DJs had Caribbean music pumping all weekend. We were able to celebrate the tournament by taking the international talent to a local reggae spot in the hills ,"Dub Club," showing them a completely different experience than what they're typically used to capping off an extremely successful event.
“This partnership between JOOLA, Island Athletic Co. and the Tourism Enhancement Fund is a massive step towards putting Jamaica and the Caribbean on the map as one of the hubs for global pickleball," said Aman Chatani, Director, Island Athletic Co., he continued, "We are really excited to see what the future holds for us and can’t wait for the next tournament”
JOOLA's Christina Chin captured gold in Women's Singles, Doubles, and Mixed, while Ernesto Fajardo grabbed gold in both Men's Singles, and Mixed Doubles.
The Jamaica International Pickleball Open had a vibe like no other, and it was considered a massive step in the growth the sport in the Caribbean.
