Dropping Third Shot Knowledge with Federico Staksrud

The 2024 season was a memorable one for JOOLA pro Frederico Staksrud as he found himself walking away with multiple medals and first place finishes in men’s singles competition. Fed’s background in tennis has been a huge asset to his pickleball dominance, but being able to master a pickleball specific shot, the “third shot drop” has paid off huge.

In pickleball, the third shot drop is a game-changing move that can help you set the tone of the match. After the serve and return, this soft, arcing shot lands just over the net in the kitchen, giving the serving team a chance to advance to the net.
