Pro Tip: How to Hit an Unreturnable Overhead

JOOLA pro Lacy Schneemann has been taking the pickleball world by storm in 2023 with runs to the finals of Mesa MLP and the PPA Daytona Beach. She recently talked us through her steps on how to hit the scorching overhead that has her helped seal some important victories. Read through the steps below and be sure to check out the video to hear from Lacy herself. How to Hit an Unreturnable Overhead:Step 1:  Make sure your feet are in the right position by turning your body to set up properly for the overhead.Step 2: Once turning your body, you now want to establish a trophy position with your paddle elbow up and wrist slightly relaxed. Use your non-dominant arm to point up and trace the trajectory of the ball.Step 3: As you prepare to hit the ball, you are going to rotate your body forward while reaching up to make contact with the ball, snapping your wrist through contact to give the ball nice momentum through the court.*Bonus Tip: To make that ball unreturnable, look to use angles, especially in the short court. For example, when on the left side of the court, look to snap your wrist outward to hit a nice inside out angle that will push your opponent off court and make the shot extra hard to return. https://joolausa.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/lacy-overhead.mp4
