Team JOOLA Finishes Tournament Year Strong
The PPA and APP Tours wrapped up their calendar year this weekend with tournaments in Orlando, FL, and Mesa, AZ, respectively.Team JOOLA players were out in force and had a strong finish to a busy, hard fought year on the road.At the APP Mesa Open in Arizona, team JOOLA players Federico Staksrud and Chuck Taylor teamed up together for the men’s doubles event and battled their way through a tough draw to a 2nd place, silver medal finish. Federico would go on to secure a second silver medal in the men’s singles event after a long back and forth battle against the number one seed JW Johnson. On the women’s side, seasoned veteran Simone Jardim ended the tournament year with two additional gold medals to her name. She won the women’s doubles event with partner Jorja Johnson and also took home the mixed doubles championship with partner Dylan Frazier.Over in Orlando, Anna Bright finished off a very successful year with a bronze medal in mixed doubles with her partner Tyler Loong. On the men’s side, Ben Johns ended the tournament season the best way possible- a triple crown performance. In true goat fashion, Ben secured gold medals in singles, in men's doubles with brother Collin, and in mixed doubles with partner Anna Leigh Waters. What a way to finish off the year! We can't wait to cheer on our Team JOOLA squad in 2023.
